Round 12 Preview: MUWFC vs. FFSA NTC

Round 12 of the South Australian WNPL season will see us take on FFSA NTC on Tuesday night, just 4 days after our last match.

Last Friday’s match was a hard fought 3-1 win over Fulham United in cold and wet conditions, a game in which Chrissy Panagaris added another 2 goals to her 2018 tally, and Club Captain Ebony Kyriacou scored her first goal of 2018. Lauren Steer made her long awaited WNPL return after rupturing her ACL last season, starting the match and playing 65 minutes. Stella Rigon was substituted off after just 30 minutes after the ex-Fulham Captain was the culprit of a nasty tackle, with coach Marie Spagnoletti opting to not risk her for the rest of the match, although she looks likely to take her place for this weeks match.

MUWFC will be looking for all 3 points over an NTC side that is exceeding everyone’s expectations and currently sit in a Finals spot, occupying 4th ahead of their opponents from last week, Salisbury Inter, in a tight game that finished 1-1.

With only 1 point separating MUWFC (1st with 26 points and +22 goal difference), West Adelaide (2nd, 25 points, +24), and Adelaide City (3rd, 25 points, +22), every game from here on is as important as the next in the chase for the Premiership and the best possible chance at making the Grand Final.
