Round 20 Preview: West Adelaide vs MUWFC

The penultimate round of the 2018 WNPL regular season has hit us, as our MUWFC ladies take on 3rd placed West Adelaide at West Beach on what will be a cold and wintery night.

Our girls remain in 1st place, 1 point ahead of Adelaide City, heading into the last 2 Rounds of the season, thanks to a 4-0 win over Adelaide University last week, which dented the Blacks Finals hopes. Stella Rigon was a force to be reckoned with, scoring her first hat-trick in the Red and Black, and moving into double figures for goals this season, while the competition’s Golden Boot leader Chrissy Panagaris got back on the scoresheet after, for the first time this season, not scoring for 2 consecutive weeks, to take her season tally to 27, a massive 9 goals ahead of anyone else.

West Adelaide are unable to move from 3rd spot heading into Finals, being 12 points behind Adelaide City in 2nd, and 12 points ahead of the FFSA NTC team, who currently hold the 4th Finals position. It took 2 Christie Hillyer goals in a 6 minute 2nd half period to see the Blue and White take 3 points last week.

These last 2 Rounds are huge for MUWFC, facing West Adelaide (3rd), and Adelaide City (2nd), and will determine if our girls can reclaim the Premiership that we claimed in the inaugural season of the WNPL.

Bring your beanies, bring your scarves, bring your jackets, and help our girls over the line at West Beach!
