Round 8 Preview – MUWFC vs Adelaide Comets

We would firstly like to apologise for the lack of match previews and reviews in the past few weeks. This has been due to a number of factors. However, WE ARE BACK!

There were lots of good signs against Adelaide City back on April 5, so after that 2-4 loss, the group was still very focused and upbeat, and then played a Salisbury Inter side who were determined to get a scalp and to their credit got a deserved point in the end with a 2-2 draw, although our MUWFC ladies could, and probably should have been out of sight by half time.

Good form from the likes of Laura Stockdale, Chrissy Panagaris and Kristy Moore has continued, with each of them getting on the scoresheet when the girls were able to blow some cobwebs out with a comprehensive 8-2 win against the FFSA NTC side last week.

As we head into the 2nd round of games against everyone, MUWFC will be looking to continue the dominant, ruthless attacking football this week against Adelaide Comets, and are still building week by week. A win this week is a must to stay in the hunt for top spot on the WNPL table.

Our WNPL Reserves ladies also play on Friday night this week, on Pitch 2 with kickoff at 8:15pm. A win is just as important for the Reserves this week as it is for the First Team, so that our reigning treble winning Reserves side can keep in touch with the Top 3 sides this season.

Mirella Scalzi, Zoe Hammond and Olivia Beer have all returned from injury via the Reserves, while in sadder news, Chanel Todino has been ruled out for 2019 due to an ACL injury. From everyone at MUWFC, we wish Chanel a speedy recovery.
