Summer had passed, pre-season is finished, and the 2018 South Australian WNPL season is upon us.

Metro United WFC have had a busy off season, acquiring no fewer than 10 players to the club from last seasons Senior squad. The likes of Racheal Quigley, Stella Rigon and Nicole Calder bring a wealth of experience not only from the WNPL, but from playing W-League for Adelaide United and in Quigley and Calder’s case, stints in Korea and USA respectively. Lauren Steer and Mirella Scalzi are also set to come back into the team during 2018 from respective ACL injuries sustained in 2017.

Coach Marie Spagnoletti has kept the girls busy throughout the summer with endless training sessions and friendly matches, which has the team fit and raring to go in a massive Round 1 fixture against Adelaide University, with both the WNPL and WNPL Reserves suiting up on Friday night at the VALO Football Centre, Angle Park.
