WNPL Preliminary Final: MUWFC vs West Adelaide

It’s the 2nd week of the Finals Series. It’s the week where 1 team gets knocked out and their 2018 is finished, while a Grand Final appearance at South Australia’s home of football, Hindmarsh Stadium, is on offer for the winner.

It’s MUWFC facing West Adelaide in the Preliminary Final, and both teams will be desperate to get to the big one.

West Adelaide got to this point by finishing 3rd in the regular season, and then beating the FFSA NTC girls (in their first Finals appearance) 2-0 in last weeks Elimination Final, with a goal in each half.

MUWFC finished Premiers and faced Adelaide City in last weeks Qualifying Final. However a single City goal saw them progress straight to the Grand Final, while MUWFC earnt the Double Chance thanks to finishing in the top 2.

With a spot in the Grand Final on the line, you just know that this will be a tough battle, and neither team will hit the canvas easily. Both teams will want to win it in the 90 minutes, but I don’t think anyone would be surprised if it went to Extra Time.
