WNPL/Reserves/Division 1 Cup – Round 2 Preview

This week sees no League action for our WNPL, WNPL Reserves or Division 1 sides, as we go into the 2nd Round of the Cup.

Our MUWFC First Team face Adelaide Comets Reserves in what could be a potential banana skin game, so our ladies certainly won’t be taking anything for granted against a side who have surprised everyone in the WNPL Reserves competition. With Comets only being promoted into the WNPL for the first time this season, their Reserves side sit almost unbelievably in 2nd on the Reserves table, Our MUWFC First Team squad have a few niggly injuries, and some players may be rested as we look towards the second half of the season.

In a rare occurrence in the WNPL era, the match will be held at our home ground of Lindblom Park, as it is a Cup game and FFSA allow clubs to host Cup matches at their home grounds. It would be great to see a large home crowd to support our ladies to a win.

Our MUWFC Reserves ladies were due to play Salisbury Inter Reserves, who coincidentally knocked out our Division 1 side in the previous round of the Cup, however Salisbury Inter forfeited the match on Saturday, apparently due to a lack of available players. This means that our Reserves side will go straight through to the Round of 16.
