Women’s Premier and State Reserves Cup Final Preview: MUWFC vs West Adelaide

Another year, another Cup Final! This week, our MUWFC WNPL Reserves ladies face long time Reserves rivals West Adelaide in the Women’s Premier and State Reserves Cup Final, for the chance to win a 2nd trophy in the space of 7 days.

Our girls faced Adelaide Comets Reserves in the Semi Final, in what was seen as the “easier” of the 2 Semi Finals, although, no Semi Final is ever easy. An early goal through Monica Brown in just the 2nd minute calmed some nerves about an upset, before Roxy Dodd added another two goals in the space of 3 minutes, just before Half Time. Although there were no goals in the 2nd half, it wasn’t for a lack of trying. But a 3-0 scoreline was good enough to send our girls through to the Final.

West Adelaide on the other hand, faced Adelaide University, with the Blacks pushing West all the way to the dreaded Penalty Shootout to decide their Semi Final.

After claiming the WNPL Reserves Premiership for finishing the regular season on top of the ladder last Friday night, our MUWFC Reserves girls will be looking to add a 2nd Reserves trophy to the cabinet in as many weeks, and make sure that we head into the WNPL Finals Series in winning form.
